BUSHNELL PRAIRIE CITY COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #170

Bushnell-Prairie City School District is located in the town of Bushnell in west-central Illinois – an area with a rich history in manufacturing and agriculture. Formed as a unit district in 1948, it continues to offer a wide range of academic and extracurricular programs to students in pre-kindergarden through the 12th grade. The district boundaries encompass over 120 square miles, and yet it retains the culture of a small community; taking great pride in its teachers, students, and generous community members.

MACOMB COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #185

Here at MHS, we believe quality education for all youth, regardless of their abilities, should be provided. Upon graduation they should be prepared to seek jobs, enter careers, pursue additional education, and be responsible citizens. The relationships among all involved in the educational process – students, teachers, administrators, community members – should be open, positive, cooperative, mutually respectful, and supportive.

We believe Macomb Senior High School and its students have special responsibilities. The school should foster an environment for students to feel accepted, be treated impartially, have a sense of accomplishment, be recognized as individuals, have avenues to express opinions, develop career directions and goals, have opportunities for personal and social growth, and be physically comfortable and secure. Students should be regular in their attendance, diligent in their classes, and helpful in maintaining a good climate for learning.

We believe Macomb Senior High School must prepare students to be responsive to the changing world in which they live. We recognize the cultural, ethnic, racial, religious and economic diversity of our students and are committed to helping them understand, respect, and appreciate that diversity.

WEST PRAIRIE COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #103

In 2003, Colchester and Northwestern School Districts consolidated to create the West Prairie Community Unit School District 103#.  The new district currently serves 600 students in four school settings.  Both South Elementary and the Middle School are in Colchester, Illinois.  West Prairie High School is located in Sciota, Illinois and North Elementary can be found in Good Hope, Illinois.  Students from Blandinsville and Tennessee also attend schools in the West Prairie School District.

West Prairie values the educational experiences provided in the rural school setting.  Academic offerings have deep foundations in agriculture, technology, STEM, social-emotional learning and restorative practices.  The West Prairie Board of Education has outlined a Vision and Mission for the school district.  Both are supported with Belief Statements and areas outlining the Priority Goals of the district.

ST. PAUL’S CATHOLIC GRADE SCHOOL

St. Paul School in Macomb was founded in 1902 under the guidance of a Pastor that wanted every Catholic child to have a Catholic education. This is still the driving force of our Pastor today. The Sisters of St. Francis operated the school and a hospital in the early 1900’s and remained at the school until the mid 1980’s. A devoted and faith-filled group of women and men have continued the academic excellence set forth by the nuns. St. Paul School is recognized within the community as a wonderful Christian choice of education. As the community sacrificed to complete a school building in the early 1900’s, generations of other families have worked to maintain, renovate, and sustain the Catholic school. The building is used by many organizations and we know our parish is thriving as the building and gym are in use almost every evening of the week by scouts, sports, Women’s Guild, Knights of Columbus, and parish activities.
